How do I know if my flight is continental or intercontinental?▼
Check the continent zone of both airports. Same zone is continental, two different zones is intercontinental. The checker above does this instantly for any pair of countries.
Why is a flight from Europe to Egypt continental? ▼
Because Miles & More places North Africa — Egypt, Algeria, Libya, Morocco, Tunisia and Western Sahara — in the Europe zone. So those routes count as continental even though they cross the Mediterranean.
Is a flight to Israel or Dubai intercontinental from Europe?▼
Yes. Israel and the Gulf states sit in the Middle East and Asia zone, so any flight from Europe to them crosses two zones and counts as intercontinental.
Which zone are Turkey and the Caucasus in?▼
Europe. Turkey, Russia, Cyprus, Armenia, Azerbaijan and Georgia are all classified as part of the Europe zone by Miles & More.
Does the flight distance matter?▼
No. Since 2024 only two things decide the points: your cabin, and whether the flight is continental or intercontinental. A short intercontinental hop earns the same as a long one in the same cabin.
How many points does a flight earn?▼
Between 20 and 400 points per segment, depending on cabin and route type. A continental Economy flight earns 20, an intercontinental First Class segment earns 400.
